Volgograd Arena is an international—class football stadium built in Volgograd for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The stadium is a truly huge object combining entertainment, technology, safety, and most importantly - continuity. That is why we have never seen on TV the shutdown of broadcasts of football matches. Whatever happens to the power supply, the stadium must function.
AGOR specialists carried out the design and support of the construction of the stadium's engineering networks. According to the assignment, the huge structure had to function at full capacity even when the external power supply was turned off.
To accomplish this task, 6 stationary diesel generator sets with a total capacity of 15 megawatts were placed around the stadium. Sophisticated control automation ensured their synchronous emergency start, and uninterruptible power supplies provided the necessary time to start the system.
The stadium premises combine many different technologies with different requirements for engineering and technical support. AGOR specialists have done their best to ensure a comfortable stay for visitors, as well as for convenient operation of engineering equipment.
Since the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Volgograd has been greatly transformed. The tourist and transport infrastructure has reached a new level, which has made the city extremely attractive to visit. But it all started with the stadium.
